Lawyer Roger Kamps

After studies of law in Lausanne, Berlin (FU) and Bonn and having passed the first and second state examinations Roger Kamps was admitted as a lawyer in 1974. During his legal training he spent six months with the German-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Rio de Janeiro.


From 1974 to 1991 Roger Kamps worked as an executive in the legal department of Bayer AG. His main responsibilities comprised several corporate sectors (plastics, manmade fibres) in all legal aspects worldwide. The focus was on international mining law and antitrust law.


Before taking on a new role as director-general of an industry association, Roger Kamps attended a six-week general management course of the business university seminar at Castle Gracht.


From 1991 to 2001 Roger Kamps was director-general of the German association of plastics manufacturers (Verband Kunststofferzeugende Industrie e.V. – VKE) in Frankfurt/Main. He was in charge of the political representation of an industry with annual sales of 15 billion euros in 2000. His main tasks included the reorientation and positioning of the plastics industry in the difficult environment of waste plastics recycling, and a stronger cooperation between plastics industry associations in Germany, Europe and globally.


From 1994 Roger Kamps was concurrently managing director of BKV Beteiligungs- und Kunststoffverwertungsgesellschaft mbH. This organization represents the interests of the German and European plastics industry in the recycling of waste plastics from the packaging sector within the Dual System (Green Dot).


Since 2001 Roger Kamps has been working as a lawyer, focusing on the development of concepts and continuous personal support in the following fields: Setting up of operations, cooperations, support in contract negotiations including the drafting and concluding of contracts.

He is thus providing continuous legal support to an IT- enterprise in the go- to -market -phase in Luxembourg.


Roger Kamps is member of the German- Brazilian Association of Lawyers, Francfurt/ Main.
